Just spent an amazing week at Mackenzie Beach Resort with the whole family. It was perfect. We had 2 cabins right on the beach with full kitchens, comfy beds and great grassy area for the kids to play on right outside our door. A hot tub on the deck to watch the beautiful sunsets from. It even had a fully decorated Christmas tree! A very talented employee made the decorations. It was beautiful! Great staff and a very relaxed vibe! Nothing else like it!

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The experience was truly amazing. You can walk along the beach using the boardwalk, you’re close to town and all its activities. The staff are just lovely, everyone was so kind and accommodating. We stayed in one of the surf bungalows and the space was incredible after long adventures. The bathroom floor is heated, and you have your own personal hot tub. Highly recommend, we will be back!!

I spent a Fri-Mon this past weekend in one of the bungalows & it was great. The room was way more equipped with dishes, etc than I was expecting, and I forgot to call to see if they keep the grills available in the winter (they do) or I would've set myself up better with the food I brought with me. The bed was super comfortable, the heated bathroom floor was great & the private outdoor space with grill, firepit & hot tub was amazing. Decent storage space for the size of the room- but could have used a couple of hooks in the bathroom. The bungalow was not well sound-proofed (could easily hear normal volume conversation & music of people next door in their outdoor area when in the room & cars/wagons on the stone driveway were quite noisy as well) but I travel with a small white sound machine so it wasn't much trouble- would just recommend others do the same- esp in busier/rowdier seasons. Another bonus is Browns Socialhouse (good atmosphere/outdoor set up, food & drinks) in a nearby hotel was super accessible via a few minute walk down the beach without having to get in the car. I love that the resort had direct access to the beach & that it was so close to everything. Staff was super friendly. Would def stay here again.

We spent three nights in their one of the air stream trailers (#10). Very clean, well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Nice bath products, comfortable bed and pillows, close (5 minute walk) to beautiful Mackenzie beach, helpful and friendly staff. Only two minor suggestions, would be to provide black out curtain or something to block out the patio lights from trailer next door and some kind of privacy screen at the entrance to the deck would make for a more peaceful soak in the little hot tub.

Mackenzie Beach Resort was lovely. We stayed in one of the Surf Bungalows which was so fun, equipped with all you'll need but the best part was the cedar 2 person tub and firepit. Least favourite part was the bed, not so comfortable unfortunately. Location is fantastic. If you are a foodie, check out Mizu Mizu Cafe inside the main building and grab the ham & kimchi sandwich and a fresh chocolate chip cookie. We came back twice just for this.

Mackenzie Beach Resort is truly our little piece of heaven on earth. After five years of coming here for storm season, it genuinely feels like home the moment we pull in. The cabins are the coziest, most comfortable places to stay. So warm, welcoming, perfectly outfitted, and just steps from the ocean. There’s just something special about waking up here. The staff are always so friendly and kind, and it’s clear they care about creating a great experience for every guest. One of my favorite parts of returning each year is reconnecting with the same cabin neighbors, there’s a beautiful sense of community here, with familiar faces who also return season after season. It makes the whole place feel like a little neighborhood tucked into the coastline. Some of our best memories happen right outside our cabin — grilling dinner, sitting around the outdoor fire pit, watching the storms roll in, and ending the night with a soak in the hot tubs. There’s nothing more peaceful, grounding, or uniquely “Tofino” than that. OHH we obviously have to be drinking some cold brews from Tofino Brew Co! Between the incredible location, the beautiful beach steps away, the warm energy of the resort, and the people who make it special, Mackenzie Beach Resort is hands down one of the best places you can stay in Tofino. I look forward to it every year and will absolutely keep coming back for many more. Highly recommend because this place is magic. - Your favorite American!

I stayed here in September for a few nights in one of the suites which was really nice! So quiet and calm and it was nice to sit around the propane fire. It was a good location for us as driving to go surfing or to the town for dinner was quick and easy. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom and shower was good. It was also handy having a mini fridge and kettle for tea and coffee. The bbq and hot tub is a great touch. I’d definitely stay here again :)

Recently stayed one night in a 1-bedroom cabin. The beachfront location is lovely, and the cabin itself was very comfortable, with an equipped kitchen and a cozy gas fireplace. The price felt reasonable for the location and accommodation. One thing to note: the website lists a sauna and hot tub. The sauna is actually operated by a separate company and comes with additional charges, which wasn’t clear online. Also, while “hot tub” is mentioned on the website, only certain cabins/rooms have private ones, so it’s worth confirming before booking. Check-in is quite late (4:30 pm). We arrived around 4:10 pm and were asked to return in 10 minutes. We walked over to the cabin and it appeared completely ready. When we returned 10 minutes later, another guest was being handed their keys, but we were again asked to wait as staff said someone was finishing up. From what we could see, the cabin was empty. Also to note, checkout is10:30 am. Overall, we enjoyed the comfort and location, but clearer communication around amenities and check-in/checkout times would improve the experience.
